The Online Jewish Classroom for Families and Home Schooling

Are you a Jewish family home schooling your children? Is your child in day school, but you’re looking for great resources to improve your child’s Jewish learning skills? We built Kitah at Home to help.

Join the families from across the United States whose children are already enjoying the program each week.

How the Kitah for Home Works
Upon enrollment in the Kitah Classroom, students and their parents will meet over Zoom with the class teacher to get acquainted and discuss the coming year. Then the teacher will add the students to Kitah’s Google Classroom where they will find weekly scheduled lessons. The teacher will assign two lessons per week according to a preset yearly schedule.

The class will study up to three courses:
1. Chumash Shemot Parshat Beshalach – with Rabbi Johnny Solomon
2. Mishnah Berachot Chapters 1-2 with Rabbi Reuven Spolter
3. Gemara Berachot Chapter 4 with Rabbi Reuven Spolter

Guided, Asynchronous Learning
Kitah learning is asynchronous: there’s no set time or Zoom study. Rather, students do their Kitah assignments at their own pace over the course of a week.

The Kitah for Home Learning Level
Kitah for Home focuses on text study and skills acquisition, as well as gaining deeper insights into the material. Lessons are geared for students studying in Middle school (grades 5-8) who have the aiblity to read Hebrew texts. Lessons always include translation and explanation, but are not appropriate for children who cannot read and vocalize Hebrew on their own.

Rabbi Jonathon Simons

The Kitah for Home Teacher
Rabbi Jonathon Simons is an experienced educator who will assign each lesson, monitor student progress, assess submitted assignment and give individual feedback. Rabbi Simons is not a tutor, but a guide, offering online assistance and support.
